Choosing the Right Respirator for Asbestos, Silica & Chemical Work

Not sure what mask you need for asbestos or silica dust? As a general guide: P2 is the minimum rating specified for both, with full-face respirators preferred over half-face where eye and face protection from irritant dust is also needed. For chemical vapours and spraying work, match the cartridge letter code to the hazard rather than assuming any filter will do — an A-rated organic vapour cartridge does not protect against acid gases, and vice versa.
