Our Story

At 1st Safety, we started with one goal: keeping Aussie workers safe with high-quality, reliable PPE and workwear. With deep industry knowledge and a passion for protection, we supply gear built tough for real job sites. 1st Safety is led by William Livas, who brings 30 years of experience in the PPE and workwear industry to every product we stock and every piece of advice our team gives.

Started in 2024, built on 30 years in the industry

1st Safety opened in February 2024 in Auburn, in Sydney’s west. The business was new, but the knowledge behind it wasn’t: William Livas brought more than 30 years in the PPE and workwear industry, including many years as a sales manager working directly with tradespeople, site supervisors and procurement teams.

Why it matters

Protective gear only protects you if it’s right for the job. A glove rated for the wrong hazard, a day-only hi-vis shirt on a night shift, or a boot that meets the standard but not the site all leave a gap. We set up 1st Safety to be a supplier where the people you talk to understand both the Australian standards and the work — and can point you to the right product, not just the nearest one.

Where we are today

We’re now a team of nine working from our Auburn warehouse, with over 3,000 products from more than 100 brands. We supply trades of every kind — plumbing, electrical, carpentry and construction — as well as councils, mining sites, transport companies, mechanics and laboratories, across Sydney and Australia-wide.
