Zip Side Safety Boots Australia – Fast On/Off

Zip-side safety boots give you lace-up fit with slip-on speed: set the laces once, then use the industrial-grade side zip to get in and out in seconds. Every boot below is certified to AS/NZS 2210.3, available for delivery Australia-wide or collection from our Auburn NSW warehouse by arrangement.

Why tradies choose a zip-side boot

  • On and off in seconds — no re-lacing at smoko, in the ute or at site security
  • The laces still set the fit, so ankle support is the same as the lace-up version
  • Same 200-joule toe cap and slip-resistant outsole as the equivalent lace-up (AS/NZS 2210.3)
  • Steel or composite toe, ankle or high-leg, men’s and women’s fits

Steel-toe zip-side boots

Composite-toe zip-side boots (lighter, non-metallic)

Waterproof, high-leg or women’s fit?

Zip-side boot checklist

  • Check your site’s PPE matrix first: steel vs composite toe, penetration-resistant midsole, EH rating
  • Zips are not sealed — for standing water choose waterproof leather or a membrane boot
  • Half sizes and wide fits vary by brand: Steel Blue, Blundstone, Mongrel, Hard Yakka, KingGee
  • Set the laces once, then use the zip — not the laces — for daily on and off

Frequently Asked Questions

Are zip-side boots as safe as lace-up boots?

Yes. The zip is only the closure. Certification to AS/NZS 2210.3 — 200-joule toe impact, compression and slip resistance — applies exactly as it does to the lace-up version of the same boot, and the laces still set the fit.

Are zip-side boots waterproof?

Most are water-resistant leather, which sheds rain and dew but not standing water. For mud, slurry or wash-down areas choose a waterproof-leather model such as the Steel Blue Argyle Zip Scuff Waterproof, or a membrane boot like the Puma Sierra Nevada.

Steel or composite toe?

Both are tested to the same 200-joule impact. Composite caps are lighter, don’t conduct heat, cold or electricity, and pass metal detectors — the usual pick for FIFO, airports and security-screened sites. Steel is slimmer and usually cheaper.

Can I collect from your warehouse?

Yes, by arrangement: call 0457 545 175 first, then collect from our Auburn NSW warehouse, 7:30am–3:30pm Monday to Friday. Orders over $200 ship free Australia-wide.
