“Water-resistant” leather sheds rain; “waterproof” keeps your feet dry in mud, slurry and wash-downs. Most safety boots are the former. Below are the boots we stock that are actually built waterproof — treated waterproof leather, a waterproof membrane, or a moulded PU/PVC gumboot — all certified to AS/NZS 2210.3 and available for delivery Australia-wide or collection from Auburn NSW by arrangement.

Water-resistant is not waterproof
- Steel Blue, Blundstone, Hard Yakka and Mongrel leather boots are water-resistant: fine for rain, dew and damp ground, not for standing water. Zips and lace eyelets are not sealed.
- Choose waterproof leather or a membrane for wet-weather construction; gumboots for slurry, concrete pours, wash-down bays and underground work.
- Dry wet boots slowly, away from heaters, and re-condition the leather.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these boots fully waterproof or just water-resistant?
The models listed under waterproof leather, membrane and gumboots are built waterproof by the manufacturer. Everything else in our safety boot range is water-resistant leather.
Is a waterproof boot hotter to wear?
Waterproof leather breathes less than untreated leather; a membrane boot like the Sierra Nevada is designed to breathe; gumboots don’t. For hot sites with only occasional water, a water-resistant leather boot can be the better trade-off.
Do you stock wide fittings?
Fit varies by brand — Steel Blue runs the Argyle in sizes 3–14 with half sizes, and the Blundstone #024 gumboot is wide-fitting. Check the size guides before ordering.
