Restraint or fall arrest?

- Fall arrest catches a fall: it needs an energy absorber, a rated anchor and enough clearance below — and a rescue plan, because suspension trauma sets in within minutes.
- Inspect before every use — webbing, stitching, buckles, D-rings — and have the harness inspected by a competent person at the intervals set by AS/NZS 1891.4; retire it after any fall.
