Class N — retroreflective tape without a fluorescent background. Rare in knitwear; more common on vests worn over other gear.

Class D/N — fluorescent fabric plus taping, certified for both day and night. This is what most Australian construction, civil and roadwork sites specify, and what you want if the shift runs past sundown.
